NHS Patient Policy

At Brenchley Dental we take pride in our oral health checks giving you all the information and recommendations to keep a healthy smile.

The focus of NHS dentistry is clinical need. This means that NHS dentistry includes all of the dental treatments necessary to maintain good oral dental health and if necessary, to restore the function of dental health in the most cost-effective way possible.

At Brenchley dental we have not been able to increase our NHS allocations due to limited funding for our area. This means that the number of patients we can see under the NHS is limited and valuable. Due to high demand, patients who do not attend their recommended Oral Health Check interval’s, will automatically be taken off our NHS list. If you fail to attend a pre-booked appointment on more than one occasion or cancel late then we will have no alternative than to remove you from our NHS list.

Patients who do not attend regularly, or miss appointments, will be offered the option to be seen as Independent patients and charged the relevant Independent fees.

For details of the Independent fee scale, please click here, or ask at reception for a price list. It is recommended that you see a dentist regularly for Oral Health Checks even if you are not experiencing any problems with your mouth or teeth.  Regular attendance helps you and your dentist to keep your mouth, teeth and gums in good health and pain free.  Your dentist will advise you the ideal recall interval for you, based on his or her assessment of your current dental health.
